Friends,
I would like to start by saying thank you for electing me to the Minnesota
House of Representatives. I am happy to be here and I have begun the process
of moving in to my new office and getting settled in the State Office
Building. We started the 2011 session on Tuesday with the swearing
in of members and a reception that followed. My wife, and two daughters as
well as my parents were able to be at the swearing in ceremony. It was a
great day filled with much excitement.
During this session, we will be working to make major improvements starting
with balancing the budget. Right now the deficit currently stands at a $6.2
billion, we need to get the budget balanced and I will work hard to make that
happen. We also will focus on helping people get back to work, and boosting
the economy. I look at this session as a great opportunity to make some real
changes that will help lay the foundation for a prosperous future.
I
have also been assigned to a few different committees on which I am eager to
get working, they include: Agriculture and Rural Development Policy and
Finance, Capital Investment and Jobs and Economic Development and Finance.
We
will be faced with a lot of tough decisions this session and I always welcome
your input. I was elected to serve the people in this district and I promise
to do my best to make your voice heard. The best way to pass along your
thoughts and ideas during the session is by e-mailing me at
rep.chris.swedzinksi@house.mn. I
want to welcome anyone visiting the metro area to stop by my office - I am
located at 527 State Office Building,
100 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.
St. Paul, MN 55155.
Best,
Chris
